In looking through our repertoire for songs concerning conversion and baptism, it became evident that we had very few songs that specifically referenced baptism. Many of the songs we associate with baptism, do not specifically reference it. For example songs about being washed in the blood of Christ, or Jesus washing sins away are not specifically about baptism, but about wiping out of sins. Keeping in mind the various passages dealing with the meaning of baptism, I attempted to write a hymn poem concerning baptism and then put it to a predictable and singable melody and harmony that would be singable in a congregational setting.
